MEMORY VERSE: For everyone who exalts himself will be abased and he who humbles himself will be exalted. Luke 18:14b
Text: l Kings 18:10-14, 1 Pet 5:5-6
The topic this morning is a bit straightforward, before we explain further,I will like us to understand the meaning of our topic. so to speak that SANCTIMONIOUSNESS it seems all we could do is to lie in order to escape the impending danger. However, we are  admonished to be very careful because it leads to death.

From our text passage, we saw how Annanias and Saphira slumped and died one after the other because of lie and deceit not knowing that they had lied to God and not man. We were also warned from the book of revelation that a second death awaits all liars.

You may not slump and die like Ananias and Saphira because of the mercies of God. You may not become dump the moment you tell a lie, but the truth is that you die spiritually, you are disconnected from God who is the source of life. We may not escape the temptation to lie. But we need to know that the grace of God is sufficient for us through the help of the Holy Spirit and we need not frustrate it because we must not continue to sin that grace may abound.
We also need to know that God’s standard never changes and so, no matter the kind of lie you tell or how you polish it, Hell awaits you.  May God help us.
PRAYER POINT
Dear Lord, help me to live an honest life that will please you through the help of your Spirit in Jesus’ Name.
