MEMORY VERSE: Job 28:23   “God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof..”. (KJV)

TEXT: Luke 8:19-21; Judges 14:4

Parents have been given a mandate by God to provide and guide their children’s life. They are embedded with a humongous task to be patient and be understanding. Patience, because in carrying out parental responsibilities they have tendencies to give up. This brings us to the topic WHEN PARENTS NEED TO UNDERSTAND!
Our anchor scriptures for today give the account of Jesus doing His father’s business when His mother asked after him in Luke  8:21, …he answered and said unto them, my mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.
Parents need to understand the plans and assignments of God upon their children, for this is above anything desirable on earth; which means they must not force their will on their children as against the will of God.
Samson’s parents did not understand the plan of God for his life at a point as they ought to, but our parents need to understand the time to pray, study, take decisions, evangelise and do the assignment of He that has sent us.  Now, should our parents miss it, please,  while you try to make them understand, do “honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise” Ephesians 6:2
In conclusion, Parents should be very sensitive to the things of the Spirit. They must seek God’s plan and opinions in their steps (taken) towards the gift and assignments of God upon their children so as not to oppose God’s plan or negate their children’s fulfillment. This means parents should be concerned in place of prayer for their children and help increase them in the knowledge of God.
PRAYERS: I pray that the lord will help parents to understand the plan and purpose of God For their children. Lord Jesus, make them understand the time and season of God for their children in Jesus’ Name. (Amen). Father, help my parents to regard God’s plan for my life. Amen. SHALOM
