And David said to the men standing by him, What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God? 1 Samuel 17:26 (Amp)
A giant is anything that “looks” too hard for God to handle. Goliath was a man that fits that definition. His stature was something that could make a whole army lose heart. For 40 days the bible said he asked for a man to fight with him, but in the whole camp there was none to be found because the man was a giant, not just in stature but also in war.
Giants do not only rise against the great but only the great are bold enough to face and conquer them. Giants must surely come up against you, as far as you are still in this body weather you are prepared or not.
What will save a man when this giants come is the deposit that was made when it looked like everything was going fine, its the investment made in the season of rest. David was already prepared by God even before Goliath came on scene
Have you been taking your years of preparation seriously? Time will tell!
When the unprepared army saw Goliath, they were scared to death, but David’s case was different, instead he was happy. Then he knew why God had to take him into the bush to meet with loins and other wild beats. Everything now started making sense and in that instance he knew that the giant was his to conquer.
God is calling and equipping us to face the giants challenging not just us but as many as He may bring our way. The giants may not necessarily be in our lives, but it might be an opportunity created by God to prove Himself strong to someone out there.
PRAYER: Father, help me not to neglect my days of training. Help me to identify the giants you have place on my way and give me the grace and courage to face them in Jesus name amen
