I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.(2 Timothy 4:7 KJV)
Text: 2Tim 4:7-8
When you have a TARGET to catch, you devote your time, energy, resource and necessary materials needed, the energy put into such will be high, you would not want any hindrance, nor a fault in the way. And once u achieve this target, you become fulfilled, your joy knows no bound.
Leader is a person who influence a group of people in other to achieve an arm or goals. Been a leader requires having VISION. Fulfilment can only be found in God by submitting one self to him.
Moses was a fulfilled leader while on earth, he made enquiries before he took any action, been a leader he listened to instructions, if he hadn’t listen to instruction, the Israelite would have suffer more in he hand of pharaoh. And Moses would have missed it,(ex 3:7-10).
Paul, he did not allow the wall of the prison to be a barrier, he knew he had a task which needed urgent attention. Even in prison he wrote letters to the people, encouraging and praying for them, he was determined to save souls for Christ.(what is your excuse of not been a fulfilled Leader). Phl 1:7-9.
Jesus, shows true picture of a fulfilled leader, he was humble in every aspect, stainless and pure, not minding the circumstances that lead to His death. He saw it as a price he must pay, so we can be free and redeemed, while on the cross, He said IT IS FINISHED(Jh 19:28-30)that is,He has accomplish his mission on earth, he felt relief and a great joy deep inside of him. Surely trials and temptations will come, but do not be discourage. Leaders do not complain when task are giving to them. They are ready for any kind of challenge awaiting them.
Verse 7, I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. What is that work that has been placed in your hands, can you confidently say you have finished the work to maximum satisfaction or otherwise. The journey to been a fulfilled leader might/will not be smooth, are you ready to fight and keep the faith and stand firm for Christ?
Verse 8, we see that God rewards only those that finish well and everyone, will be judge according to his own deeds. There is a crown awaiting everyone. For every step you take today, someone is emulating it. At the end of your journey in life, will God be proud to say welcome my faithful servant or you will be cast into total condemnation.
You can check yourself and know if you are fulfilled or you still need to work more on yourself, by asking questions like, How many souls have I impacted positively or negatively, what legacy will I be remembered for?, Are mine a leader or a dictator?, how vibrant are mine for God. When last did I pray for a soul, when last did I give to the less privilege, because that another form of fulfilling Gods plan. When last did I go for evangelism. Do I shift God work to another, or I pretend not to see them. This are part of the things that makes us fulfil in life.
In other to be fulfilled as a leader you need to listen to instruction, break barriers and chains, pray, show love , by giving, be ready to face challenges and lastly be ready to be a servant.
PRAYER: Lord grant me the zeal to work for you in season and out of season. Help me to live a fulfilled life that is of you. Amen.
